The Captain of this remarkable houseboat is Albius Gown, or Cap’n Gown for short. And boy is he short! Weighing-in just under 80 pounds and standing a full three-foot five-inches, Capn Gown proves its not the tallest, but the bravest and wisest that govern a majestic ship. His head may be in the clouds sometimes, but he’s usually the only one who has a birds-eye view of the situation.
Jake is a frequent guest on the ship and lives just off the coast of Zydeco Bay, where The Magic Boat is currently docked. Brother Bear and Brother Abbot like to play games or sing songs whenever he comes aboard and the Captain saves his wildest stories just for him. He is very dedicated to fun and friendship, but one of Jake’s best qualities is taking time to reflect; it’s hard not to benefit from his insightful thoughts.
Miss Holly is everyone’s friend, and loves to impress you with her wild sense of creativity. She shows us what true joy can look like, and although she calls The Magic Boat home, her and the ship definitely have a mysterious relationship. Watch closely and you might notice she’s never anywhere on the boat by chance.
Brother Bear is a founding member of the ship’s bluegrass band, The Ship Belly Boys. Whether you find him picking his banjo or sleeping, his rough-around-the-edges demeanor isn’t because you’re boring. On the contrary, it would be hard to find a more honest and dedicated beast for a friend than Brother Bear.
Brother Abbot is the co-founder and fiddle player in the ship’s bluegrass band, The Ship Belly Boys. This little rodent has a heart ten-times bigger than his bucked teeth, and would never withhold a kind word to a friend. Abbot is sensitive but asks a lot of tough questions, so naturally his favorite saying is, “I like you just the way you are”.
Shepley is one of the twin, crow brothers and loves to learn. He is a teacher on The Magic Boat as well as the ship’s primary navigator. Shep isn’t prone to spontaneous adventure like his brother Fin, but has never turned down an exploration that might benefit his learning in some way.
Fin the crow is the twin brother of Shepley, and spends most of his days avoiding work. Unlike his brother, he prefers to sleep up in the ship’s crows-nest even when its raining. If he’s not in his hammock, he’s probably surfing the coast; the crew loves joining together to watch him perform.
